Val's new bed has arrived!

Val's mickey bed came yesterday morning. We have yet to get the super single size mattress so what we did now is to use her single size one and fill up the gaps with spare pillows. When I reached home and asked her, she said she liked the bed and said bed was nice. After her bath, she wanted to stay in her room and looked very excited about her new bed.

We thought that's good, it means no more struggles to sleep on the bumper mat tonight since she liked her bed.. Nooooooooooooo! It was yet another horrible night. She didn't want to sleep on the bed, wanting to sleep on the bumper mat again. She began crying loudly when hubby asked her to sleep on the bed.

Hearing her cries from next room, I went in. I didn't do much, just sat at the end to prevent her from climbing down. I didn't scold her. Neither did I talk to her much. I just sat there.. 'guarding' the exit. She whined a little here & there.. but eventually she accepted her bed and slept on the pillow. But her constant tossing & turning, scratching and getting up to adjust her quilt really drives me crazy. But I stayed patient.. waited & waited.. until she finally slept.

It took me ONE FULL HOUR to wait for her to sleep. This one hour felt like eternity... but at least, the 1st night went 'smoothly' of sorts.

Pizza!

We brot Val for her 2nd cooking class at Genius R Us today. I wasn't feeling fantastic since Sat so I decided to let HB accompany her instead. As we were rushing out of the house, we forgot our camera (how wonderful right?). Anyway HB did take some pictures using his phone. Will download them and post asap.

The pizza & cheese sticks tastes great btw.. not too bad for 1st timers!

Valerie's new bed

Valerie is definitely outgrowing her cot thus we wanted to buy her a new bed. These few nights hasn't been easy coz we have now 'banished' her back to her own room after allowing her to bunk in with us for the past 1-2 months.

Saw from the newspaper that c-myroom (www.c-myroom.com) is having discount on this bed (orange instead of red) at S$599. It's still not cheap but we decided to pay them a visit at United Square to take a closer look. We tried asking Val if she liked it, but she was more interesting in their bunk beds ("Climb", "Climb" she said), sofa & tables & chairs as compared to this bed. But we decided to buy it nonetheless coz we just want to get it over & done with.

Just hope she'll sleep on it as she simply refused to sleep on mattress or the sofa bed lately. Preferring to sleep on the bumper mat instead...

Quilt Shopping..

Went window shopping on Friday.. and I "narrowed" my choices to these 3 bags. But I must say the Prada one is EXPENSIVE at S$3,620. Next is the Loewe at S$2,890 and finally the LV Mini Lin Speedy (S$1,130). Both the Prada & the Loewe are made of Lambskin, thus the price tag.

Have been thinking of these bags daily, I like them all for various reasons. For obvious reason I can't buy them all (hahahaha). In terms of functionality, look etc.. I like the Prada one most. But it's also THE MOST expensive one.

Definitely need some time to think about it...

Peek-a-boo

Saw Dr Heng today. She went through the report with me, explaining to me what the detailed scan has done and that baby is normal & healthy. She also commented that baby is 'fat' as his AC (adominal circum) is roughly the same size as his HC (head circum). Typically baby at this stage should have a bigger head she explained. But weight wise, she said it's ok at 383gm.

After that, she explained the blood test report to me. Other than my haemoglobin level is below the mark (which means I have to start taking iron supplements.. yucks!), everything is ok. The triple tests results are negative so baby is healthy.

Weight wise, I only gained 0.8kg from last week (4 weeks back), which I think is attributable to my flu. She offered to prescibe me with cough mixture but I declined since I still have.

I was lucky as there wasn't any patients waiting outside and Dr Heng agreed to do another scan for me. I was only thinking of the normal 2D scan, but to my surprise, she did an FOC 3D scan for me! This boy definitely have a sharper nose than Valerie. Dr Heng said he is a pretty boy.

But the scan also revealed another 'disturbing' thing, ie the cord was around his neck at that time. It wasn't there yesterday. Hopefully he'll move away from it as there is nothing we can do at this stage...

Detailed Scan

Finally! I've reached the half way mark. Today it's my detailed scan and I'm very excited. This experience was quite different from what was done at Dr Ho's clinic. This one seemed more 'detailed' :p

She scaned for many things, from face to lips to heart etc. And she confirmed that it's a boy and he weighs 383gms today. The head & adominal circumference and weight are all around his gestation period, which means he's growing at a steady pace.

I'm quite happy to know that as I had been down with flu for 2 weeks running and was afraid that he hasn't been able to grow well because of that.

She tried doing a 3D scan for me, but this little boy covered his face with his hands, thus I was unable to even have a glimpse of how he could look like. Another day I guess :)

Celebration in CC

This is Val's celebration in the childcare. Had it on her actual birthday. The cupcakes are just pretty! Anne was the cutest by telling the teachers "Valerie's mommy make cake!" Hahaha.. kids are so cute at times.

Valerie is 3!

Today is Valerie's lunar birthday (4YO in chinese terms). I ordered the Pretty in Pink from roomfordessert for her 2 weeks back. Went around trying some cakes (tried obolo) but eventually decided on roomfordessert (this is 3 in a row!) since HB liked their choc-banana cake. I didn't order the choc-banana this time round coz I thot better to try out their flavours rather than stick to one.

I didn't eat the cake on the actual day coz I had been down with viral flu for more than a week and just started on antibiotics. Was really feeling quite terrible but thankfully managed to enjoy the dinner without much hiccups.

Wow.. Valerie is now three... how time flies!

HB's Wishlist

Panerai Luminor Marina Automatic (44mm)

This the the watch my HB is eyeing on. Haven't seen the real thing yet as there were none available at the Cortina Boutique we visited yesterday (what's new right?).

The damage? S$8,450.

It's a classy watch, sporty, wearable and professional all at one. This is the stainless steel model and it's quite widely sort after watch now.

Update! I bought it for DH! :)

New Target!

LOEWE Nappa Aire.. my newest target! Just called the boutique, it costs S$1,890 for the small one & $2,090 for the medium size one *gulp!* This is definitely more than the S$1K I've previously set aside for the Mini Lin Speedy...

But look at it.. so classy! The more I look at it.. the more I like it! I like both colours but I think I'll have to make a trip to the boutique to see the real macoy as well as carry it to see if it's the right match for me!

Thumb sucker?

What do you think? Is he sucking his thumb? :p

C... is for Cookie!

It's Valerie's first try at baking cookies. After seeing the pictures from Tigger's blog, I was very keen to bring Valerie to try out the Kids Can Bake! classes at Genius R Us, so I decided to join her for this cookie baking class.

When we reached the premise, Valerie was shy and didn't want to go in. She didn't want to wear the apron either! Thankfully we reached there early so there is time for her to slowly warm up to the environment.

When the class started, she was very excited, and try to do all the steps herself too. Of course most of the kneading & rolling was done by me but she has all the say as to which cookie cutter & toppings she wanted :-)

After the cookies were done, she hesitated a little when I offer her one. After one bite, she ran away with the cookie and asked for more! BTW, the cookies did taste quite nice!

Next lesson I'll be bringing her to make pizza! Hopefully aunty Violet will give me some discount if I sign up another 2 lessons coz S$60/lesson aint cheap!

Valerie's new friend/toy

This picture was taken this morning. She saw this doll on Sunday and basically 'stole' it away from me and kept saying "Look! It's a doll! So cute! So cute!" Obviously she loved it. But we were reluctant to remove it from the box that night coz we are not sure if she really really liked it. So we hid it before she sleeps (or else she'll just continue to chant..) and waited till next morning.
Monday morning when she woke up, she seemed as enthusiastic over the doll so I decided to give it to her. Since then, she has been hugging it around quite frequently. I name her dolly coz if u ask Valerie, she'll just say she's a doll :p
Valerie will kiss her every morning too, just like she'll greet or kiss us good morning. She'll hug it to sleep or hug it as she watches TV. She's such a girl & I enjoy every moment seeing her this way. :-)
