Today we are supposed to goto a Temple in Geylang to pay respects to HB's grandparents. It's not the official ching-ming prayers for us yet. It's some other 'event'. We headed to Aljunied Market to have our breakfast before heading to the temple. When we reached there, it was a total chaos!
We were taken aback coz it was never this crowded before. Then we realised that alot of pple took the opportunity to go there for Ching Ming rituals. And the traffic inside & outstide the temple was just pure madness.
The narrow door way do have enough room for a 2-way traffic. But becoz a white Hyundai was parked at the door, it had been narrowed to a 1-car traffic. At one point in time.. tons of cars wanna exit the temple, causing us to be stuck outside (as well as other cars) and creating a jam outside.
I went in to survey the situation inside, seeing if there were lots available. There were and the inside was quite empty. I tried to ask a van politely if he could gave way for traffic to come into the temple before he try to move out since the traffice outside was already so jammed. As in ALL SINGAPOREANS, this man kept insisting that once he leave the temple, my car can come in.
Is he blind? Can't he see that the traffic outside is more chaotic than inside? In all logical terms, it make sense to allow cars to come in first to help ease the traffic outside! But knowing Singaporeans who are all in the "Me first" mentality, I gave up trying to talk sense into this man. There are at least 4 lots available inside the temple yet no space outside for cars to leave anyway! Frustrating!
Anyway, that episode aside.. Valerie & Huixin actually had 'fun' playing in the temple. See how sporting they are when I ask them to give me a funny face! Valerie was laughing so loud around the temple and I'm actually afraid she might wake up the gods!
Hahahaha!
